First elected to the Helotes City Council in 2024, Sabrina McGowan serves Place 4 and is committed to thoughtful decision-making, open communication, responsible management of city resources, and planning for Helotes’ future. With more than 30 years of experience in strategic marketing communications, media relations, and organizational leadership, Sabrina brings an executive-level perspective to her service in local government. Her approach is grounded in listening, understanding the issues, communicating clearly, and working toward practical solutions.

Serving Helotes

Sabrina’s connection to Helotes began in 1972, when her family moved to the community. After living and working outside of Helotes, she returned in 2020 and now lives in the home where she grew up.

Her professional career has included leadership roles in communications and marketing with organizations including KLRN, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Baron & Budd PC, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, and an international law firm. She founded SQM Communications LLC, a strategic communications consulting firm that supported clients across the United States for more than a decade.

Since returning to Helotes, Sabrina has also served the community through volunteer and board roles, including the Historical Society of Helotes, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and the Helotes Economic Development Corporation.
